How to Avoid becoming a Sugar Cube (Five Minute Friday)

images-1Recently I’ve participated in Lisa-Jo Baker’s “Five-Minute Friday” (you can find all my Five Minute Friday posts in the ‘related posts’ at the bottom). The concept is simple, and in my opinion, brilliant:

Write for 5 minutes, straight from the heart, on that weeks theme  (given by Lisa-Jo) – and then share it.

No edits, no marinading or reflecting – just write and share.

As I’ve always said, if you’re a writer or blogger, it’s well worth doing occasionally – it really challenges and helps you grow as a writer. It’s most definitely helped me and I look forward to it every week. If it’s a theme close to your heart, like it is for me today, it’s such a joy

Today’s theme is ‘In Between’. I hope you like the post, and please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Here goes:

Scientists have proved the universe is made up of atoms. Everything in creation is essentially a component of atoms. And atoms have been proven to be 99.9% empty space. Experts have said if you took all the empty space – the space inbetween – out of the universe, then the entire universe would fit into the  size of a sugar cube.

Yes, you heard that right. The universe without empty space is the size of a sugar cube

I’m not making this up.

We physically live in the empty space.

If you try to comprehend it, it blows your mind. The universe is amazing.

But it’s not only in the physical realm where we live on between. All of us, no matter who we are, are always living either in response to a major event in the past, or building to one in the future.

And we are led to believe the whole purpose of the present is to build up to those big moments.

Moments where we get to release all this built up energy. Joy, pain, grief, anger, happiness.

But what we lose if we live in these moments is the joy of the present.

The joy of the spaces.

There are incredible moments happening right now. In your life. Blood is pumping. Your brain is making loads of decisions. Your body is reproducing more of you. It completes the job every 28 days.

And over the course of these inbetween moments – it’s then the real transformation takes place. It’s over time we lose or gain weight. Its over time our character changes or we break an addition. It’s over time we grow in a gifting.

The big moments are great, and we should enjoy and celebrate those.

But let’s not forget what’s happening right now. Lets have our eyes open to the space in between, where real transformation occurs.

Because without the space in between, like with the universe, there is no shape without the space.

Do you want your life to be just a sugar cube? Or a beautiful, infinite journey with lots of variety?

Where do you live? Past, future..

..or in-between?

Do you agree or disagree with me? Why/Why not?

Do you live life in the present – or do you live in the past or future?

What would would it be like to fully embrace the present?

“And over the course of these inbetween moments – it’s then the real transformation takes place.” So Much Yes to this! I strive to live Fully Present… to live in the In Between… because it’s the little things that end up being big, right? Oh – and the Sugarcube thing: Mind Blown!
